I found the course extremely beneficial. It combined ‘refresher’ style elements (discussed in the context of clinical practice and current research)with interactive, group based sessions where we could pool knowledge and learn from peers as well as the tutors. I came away with a far more comprehensive ‘tool kit’ of theoretical and practical approaches to assessment and therapy, as well as ideas about handling more complex situations.
Liz and Jo were a wealth of knowledge and experience. They ensured the content was engaging, relevant and enjoyable with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and discuss issues as they arose. A great course, really glad I was able to attend. Thank you.
The course was outstanding. Easily the best course I have ever attended. The content was presented fantastically and with so much enthusiasm. This really rubbed off on how engaged I was throughout. Liz and Jo have so mnuch knowledge and experience and their anecdotes are so pertinent to the course content it makes it so much more real life and accessible than other courses I’ve been on.
There were so many opportunities for discussion and questions and we were able to split into groups with practioners from similar backgrounds to really comb through the different aspects of the course and relate it to the people we work with on a daily basis. Liz and Jo were alwyas on hand to assist whenever needed.
The catering was fabulous and suited a wide range of dietry requirements (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, dairy-free). Every effort was made to make sure everyone was catered for. The venue is a lovely space and really suited to the course. It is easily accessible via car and public transport and signposted.
I cannot fault this course, everything was wonderful. I had a great week and enjoyed every second!
I really enjoyed my time attending this course. I felt that the tutors were really knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend it to other SLTs looking to begin their dysphagia competencies. The theoretical week really prepared me well for the case study and exam. Combining this with my six month supervisory period, I now feel very confident in my abilities going forward.
The course was great- I would definitely recommend! Jo and Liz were great tutors and managed to make the theory interesting and engaging. The handbook from the course has been very helpful to refer back to.
It was also a good opportunity to network with other therapists from across the UK.
The location was easy to find, situated near the Trafford Centre and the food provided on the course was great.
I also found that the assignment we were set allowed us to apply the knowledge we had learned to our own patients.
This course was absolutely amazing- one of the best courses I have attended. Both Liz and Jo are brilliant: Vastly experienced, knowledgeable, approachable, friendly and witty tutors!
The course content was very well planned and thought out. The amount of theory could have been overwhelming but a range of teaching approaches (pratical exercises, guest lecturers, videos and case discussions) coupled with good pacing ensured this didn’t happen. Liz and Jo’s enthusiasm and passion for the subject was infectious and made me keen to go off and learn more.
Questions and requests to revisit/recap theory were welcomed and encouraged by Liz and Jo. Nothing was too much trouble and they were both keen to ensure everyone understood.
Fantastic course and anyone who gets the opportunity to attend should- it’s a thoroughly enjoyable week!
This was a really good course. You get so much information in the week’s training and hand book and the focus and emphasis on practical techniques for therapy was really useful in practise. Course was informal enough to be able to have good discussions with other therapists and ask questions. Being able to meet with others working in the same area and connecting with them during and after the course was really helpful. Really well planned course which covers adults and children. Venue was accessible from Trafford Centre and food provided was great. Thank you for everything.
Thank you very much to Liz and Jo- 2 excellent tutors and faciliators.Although there is a lot of content to the course, it was very well presented by 2 experts in their field. I would highly recommend the course

Liz & Jo are fantastic tutors – their joint expertise and knowledge of dysphagia, their approachability, the amount of information they shared, together with their passion for their subject made the week pass very quickly.
I would highly recommend the course – it was all I hoped it would be, having read others’ views before the course.A good balance of theory, videos, references, interactive work and opportunity for questions.
