I would highly recommend this course to other speech therapists and health professionals who have an interest in dysphagia.
The course presenters are extremely knowledgeable and offered support and reassurance throughout, always linking the course content to the clinical setting.
It was excellent to meet other speech therapists who work in different clinical settings and I hope we can continue to offer support to each other throughout the supervisory period.
The venue, refreshments and lunch were excellent and we definitely did not go hungry.
Thank you to Jo and Liz for providing us with the knowledge and skills we need to become dysphagia trained Speech and Language Therapists.
This is a superb course that I would highly recommend to other SLTs interested in getting their Dysphagia qualification. The presenters are extremely knowledgeable in their areas and their skilled (and often humorous) delivery made the course accessible, interesting and enjoyable. The week was nicely paced and the guest lecturers from paediatrics, dietetics, physiotherapy and occupational therapy added a nice multi-disciplinary dimension.
I would like to say a big thank you to both Liz and Jo who went above and beyond in sharing their expert knowledge, facilitating learning through fun practicals and generally being terrific course leaders.
Great course.
Good mix of theoretical learning with practical activities and time to discuss real-life scenarios. Felt the two course leaders really got the balance right between all of the client groups and all sections had information that was transferrable to any caseload. The enthusiasm of the course leaders (Liz and Jo) was inspiring and instilled confidence in me and my colleagues who are new to dysphagia. Looking forward to getting stuck in and building my experience with a new client group.
Huge thanks to all the presenters.
A truly excellent course offering exactly the right mix of technical knowledge and practical application in practice. The course leaders were inspirational therapists who instilled a sense of new-found confidence and self-belief in newly qualified therapists working with dysphagia. Thank you!
I found this course excellent. Content of the course was comprehensive and current. Facilitators were very engaging and I left the Theoretical Week with a new refreshed enthusiasm for dysphagia!
Would highly recommend this course to others.
I was very impressed with this course; in terms of the theory/practical provided, the passion and 1st hand knowldege of the presenters, the venue and the food and drinks provided.
It is now up to us to link this week and all that it entailed with our efforts to be fully competent.
This course also provided intervention and management strategies which are sadly lacking at Uni and in many other courses.
Thank you and all the best.
This was a very enjoyable course! Jo and Liz are brilliant, extemely knowledgeable and experienced. I would highly recommend this course to others.
This was an excellent course! Liz and Jo were very knowledgeable, approachable and enthusiastic, relating the theory to practise throughout. They delivered the information in a very well structured way and provided valuable written resources. I would highly recommend this course. Thankyou!
This course was thoroughly enjoyable and very informative. Thank you to Liz and Jo for sharing their expertise and wealth of knowledge. I would highly recommend this course to my colleagues.
I have just recently completed the course. Liz and Jo were excellent presenters and lectures were full of detail and relevant to all caseloads. A number of different professionals attended which was helpful to learn about other roles involved in dysphagia – particularly for those who may not work in an MDT setting. Having done the course I am now looking forward to beginning my supervisory period and working with a dysphagia caseload.
The venue and staff were excellent and food was amazing too!
