I STAYED IN PREMIER IN NORTH, IT WAS AN ECXELLENT CHOICE. THE HOTEL WAS CLEAN, THE ROOM WAS VERY SPACIOUS AND RENOVATED, THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY. THE HOTEL WAS JUST ACROSS THE STREET, 5 MINUTES WALK FROM THE TRAFFORD SHOPPING CENTER OFFERING MANY CHOICES OF FOOD. I HAD A TAXI LIFT ONLY FOR THE FIRST DAY OF THE COURSE SINCE ANOTHER PARTICIPANT STAYING AT THE SAME HOTEL KINDLY OFFERED ME A DAILY LIFT. CAN EASILY GET BUSES AND TRAMS FROM THE TRAFFORD CENTRE TO THE CENTRE OF MANCHESTER. ECCLES IS A NICE PLACE TO GO AROUND AND SEE THE CANALS. TAXI FARE TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT IS AROUND £28-£30 BUT COULD ALSO GET BUS BUS 18 HOURLY FROM TRAFFORD CENTRE AND IT TAKES ABOUT 50 MINUTES TO GET TO THE AIRPORT.

      Hi all,

I stayed at the Ascott Hotel in on Half Edge Lane. It has free parking and free breakfast and can get toast/full english and veggie breakfast!

It is a 5 min drive to the course. There is a petrol station near by so can get bits and bobs.

It is 20 min uber to the centre of Manchester, but very clean and comfortable b and b and the owner is lovely!

Very quiet and would recommend- just be aware that if want to get to the city centre then public transport can take 40 mins.

However can walk 15 mins down the road to Eccles and has a parade of shops and restaurants 🙂

Premier Inn, Manchester Trafford Centre North

The above mentioned hotel was set in a good location. One can easily get a taxi to the course loaction (5-10 min without traffic; 15-30 min with traffic). It is close to a very large mall, where one can shop and eat. The hotel offers a very good breakfast at an additional cost. Rooms are spacious offering the necessary facilities.

Staff are very friendly and helpful.

I used booking.com and stayed at Brooklands Lodge B&B in Sale. It was great, they have one room which is an apartment. It had a large living area which included a kitchenette (microwave, fridge, cutlery, kettle, sink), a lounge area and there was a separate bedroom. Plenty of space when you’re staying for the week long course, modern furnishings and very clean. The carpark was off the main road and spacious. The continental breakfast was refreshed in my room each day. Free wifi included. Took me about 20 mins to drive to the course venue.

I stopped at the Premier Inn Trafford Centre North, M41 7JE. There was free wifi which was strong enough for your phone and browsing on a computer but not able to stream Netflix for example (you were able to upgrade this for a cost). You had to pay for breakfast before hand but it was standard Premier Inn – hearty and set you up for the day! I think it was around £350 for 5 nights and breakfast. Parking was included in the booking and would be very handy if you were driving. The room itself was spacious and clean, there was an ensuite bathroom with WC, large mirror and shower over bath. Double bed but also a sofa bed in the room, TV, kettle, vanity area and wardrobe.

Although there was no fridge in the room, you are around a 5 minute walk from the Trafford Centre which has many different restaurants – I did not spend over £15 per meal on a night time which I felt was reasonable. There is also a restaurant attached to the Premier Inn (Table Table) if you did not want to walk to the Trafford Centre.

The accommodation was around a 8 minute drive away, I tended to use Uber (variable prices due to peak times but tended to average at £12 per day). I was also informed it was around a 30-40 minute walk away.

Overall, the hotel is close to the venue, clean/tidy and I was able to get a god nights sleep. Uber was not expensive, allowing me to travel to the venue in under 10 minutes.

Just as an alternative to the hotels/ B&Bs mentioned below. I camped in my campervan in Warrington. I found it easy to travel in (less than half an hour to the Lighthouse Venue) and where I stayed was significantly cheaper than the other options. Worth considering camping as an alternative???

I stayed in the Holiday Inn Express hotel in Trafford city. Its 3 star rated, with free wifi, breakfast included and maybe parking (not sure, but it was mentioned in my booking).
The staff are friendly and helpful. the Hotel looks nice and modern.
The room is beautiful and very quiet, medium size, clean and tidy, with safe, big wall mirror and closet, TV and complimentary tea and coffee (but you get your own water).
Double bed with sofa can turn into bed, so it can fit 3 individuals easy.
bathroom is clean and nice, everything related to personal hygiene provided free upon request.
one cons, no small fridge to store your food or drinks.
the rate comparing to other 3 stars small hotels is lower, 6 nights (because I arrived from QATAR the day before) for almost 350 pounds (check hotelcombined.com for different ratings and secret deals). In trafford city (5 minutes walk from the hotel) you will enjoy being busy with the following: ASDA, Trafford center, legoland, Aquarium life, Starbucks, and free Krispy Kreme donuts.
To Venue, its almost 7 minutes trip, I used Uber, 4-5 pounds, if shared will be better. but soon there will be tram just in front the hotel.
There are many restaurants next you, and for Halal restaurants, there is Sheba restaurant in Eccles (with home delivery) with good rate, and in Barlow Moor road with many Halal restaurants. Also you can use mobile apps for food delivery services (https://paym.co.uk/2017/11/29/8-food-delivery-apps-to-help-you-hibernate-through-the-winter/).

I stayed at the Milton Hotel, Eccles. The rooms were clean and large but the rest of the hotel was very basic. It was only a 20 minute walk to the venue but there are limited food options for the evening. A tram into Manchester took roughly 40 minutes. I would probably want to stay somewhere closer to Manchester if I went again, but it was great to walk to the venue so quickly.

I stayed at Brooklands Lodge B&B in Sale. Unfortunately at the time of this course there were extensive road works en route to the Lighthouse Venue which meant that the journey took longer than usual, though under normal circumstances it should have been a 15 minute journey. The accommodation was clean, quiet and comfortable, and the people who run the B&B were fabulous, couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful. There’s a Sainsbury nearby and all the rooms had fridges – one has a microwave and separate lounge area.

I stayed at the Travelodge near the Trafford centre. The room was large, clean and quiet.Tea and coffee making facilities in the room, and a vending machine in the lobby sells chocolates and crisps, and another hot drinks.A breakfast box is available on request.Staff were pleasant and helpful.
      30 mins free Wi-Fi in a 24 be period or £3 / day.There was a Wetherspoon’s, a Nando’s and a Costa opposite at the indoor ski centre.
Getting to the Lighthouse was straightforward, a short walk to the Trafford centre bus terminus, where you can catch a bus to Eccles interchange, then another short walk to the Lighthouse. There’s a Morrison’s at Ecclesiastical for buying any bits you need.
